Orientation Week Bachelor & Master in North American Studies 2024/25

09.10.2024 - 11.10.2024

This year's orientation week at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies will take place on the following dates:

BA program (mono BA and combi BA): Wednesday - Oct 9 from 10 AM to 4 PM

MA program: Thursday - Oct 10 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Topics related to the BA and MA program: Friday - Oct 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM

Newly enrolled students can just attend the orientation days without prior registration or notification.

Welcome to the John-F.-Kennedy Institute!

We recommend that first semester students attend both days of their respective degree orientation (BA: Wed&Fri; MA: Thu&Fri). The event will be held in-person. Please note that we will continuously update the schedule below.

Newly enrolled students will receive an official invitation via email. If you did not recieve an invitation, but are enrolled regardless, you are of course welcome to join your degree orientation as well.

Newly enrolled students are also strongly encouraged to attend the Central Orientation Day organized by the Freie Universität on October 1, 2024 as well as the Orientation Days for international students on the October 1 and 4, 2024.

In order to estimate the number of attendees we would appreciate to receive an email in advance. RSVP to advisement@jfki.fu-berlin.de. Please also let us know if you require any type of assistance.

You may find the courses offered here (please scroll down to section "(R) Oral and Writing Skills A") and the specifics on the registration process here (DEU | ENG). If you are struggling with how to fill out the form correctly, check out this cheat-sheet here!
