Nina Mackert is a historian and currently interim professor of North American history at the University of Erfurt (before and after, she is a senior research fellow at the LeipzigLab Global Health, Leipzig University). She is interested in the history of bodies, eating, and health, in critical ability studies, and the new history of capitalism. She has just finished her second book, a US and transatlantic history of the calorie (forthcoming with NYU Press in 2025).
