Sebastian Jobs
Sebastian Jobs is an assistant professor of North American history at the John F. Kennedy Institute (FU Berlin). A former researcher at the German Historical Institute (Washington, DC) and at UNC Chapel Hill, he focuses on African American history, cultural history, and the history of everyday life. His first monograph about military victory parades in New York City explored performance and ritual as methods for the writing of history. His other publications have focused on the postcolonial turn in history and the importance of archives for history writing. He is currently finishing a book project about rumors of slave revolts in the US South.
