After being awarded my MA (Magister Artium) degree in Philosophy and History from Humboldt Universität zu Berlin, I began a PhD project at Erfurt University. It was funded among others from the German Historical Institutes in London and Washington as well as by the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. In 2016 I was a Research Associate at the Five College Women’s Studies Research Center at Mount Holyoke College in 2016. I am currently a researcher (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) at the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek until the end of 2021. My research interests include transnational and global history and gender history, with a focus on human rights, crime and labor as well as theory and methods. Currently, I am completing my PhD project on the “Transnational politics of sexual labor in the second half of the 20th century” with a focus on the conceptualization of prostitution and trafficking in relation to human rights, labour and sexuality and a regional focus on Europe and the United States.
