"The Biden Administration - Building Back Better?"
Under the guidance of Ambassador Susan Rice, Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, the Domestic Policy Council (DPC) is tasked to bring “greater dignity, equity, opportunity, and prosperity to the everyday lives of Americans.” The DPC coordinates across all branches of the Biden Administration to counter the effects of the pandemic, push economic recovery and social justice issues, and prepare U.S. society for global challenges such as climate change. At this critical moment, the DPC faces several big questions. Will the stimulous package be effective in alleviating job loss, poverty, and health challenges? How to craft an infrastructure bill that will pave the way for a booming green economy in all parts of the U.S.? What role can government play in bringing a polarized society together to work towards more just communities and institutions? And how do voters from all sides of the political spectrum respond to the Biden agenda?
In a discussion with Prof. Christian Lammert, FU Berlin, Wisconsin-based Prof. Katherine Cramer and Texas resident Prof. Melanye Price will provide their unique perspectives on how to overcome the political divide in the U.S. in order to build a more prosperous and equitable America.
