Obituary for Henrik Enderlein
News from May 31, 2021
It is with great sadness that faculty members, students and alumni/alumnae of the John F. Kennedy Institute who took part in his courses have learnt of the death of Professor Henrik Enderlein.
After working at the ECB, Enderlein joined the John F. Kennedy Institute in 2003 as an assistant professor (Juniorprofessor) in the Economics Department. Two years later, he joined the newly founded Hertie School of Governance where he taught until his sudden death and has served as President during the past three years. Throughout his academic career he was a staunch supporter of the European project. After his departure from the JFKI, he retained close ties with the Institute and the newly established Graduate School and served as a Principal Investigator and supervisor.
Our thoughts are with his family.
