Didier Aubert is an associate professor of American Studies at Paris 3 University. He also taught US history and visual culture in the US and in Chile. He is the author of various articles and book chapters on US documentary and press photography (Etudes Photographiques, La Revue Francaise d´Etudes Américaines, Visual Studies). He is one of the editors of L´Amérique des Images, published in 2013. He is currently working on a book which will look at the way Methodist missionaries portrayed Chile in photo albums created in the early decades of the 20th century.
