REAL - Yearbook of Research in English and American Literature
General Editors: Winfried Fluck, Herbert Grabes, Jürgen Schlaeger, Brook Thomas. Published by Gunter Narr Verlag, Tübingen.
REAL aims to provide a forum for substantial articles on literature in English from the Middle Ages to the present. Emphasis is on the discussion of specific texts, authors, or periods, and on the application to these of particular critical methods. Although purely linguistic papers do not fall within the scope of REAL, studies in such fields as poetics, rhetoric, stylistics, metrics and textual criticism are welcome. The following general types of essay are the province of REAL:
-
Presentations of current research, including extracts or chapters from book-length studies nearing completion.
-
Essays reviewing in depth past or current research on a particular topic or group of topics.
-
Thematically or methodologically specific survey-essays on recent developments in any genre of imaginative literature.
