“Law, Culture, and the Humanities,” Workshop with Bernadette Meyler (Stanford Law School) and Brook Thomas (University of California, Irvine)
The interdisciplinary study of law and literature has been a staple of US school curricula since the 1970s, and in the course of the cultural turn has found its way into English, Comp Lit, and Sociology departments. Understood more broadly as Law and the Humanities today, this approach is still relatively new to German American Studies. In this workshop, we want to talk about the role and relevance of the interdisciplinary study of law for American Studies and for law schools today. Please join our conversation!
